From an introduction to a viewing

An introduction should make the next conversation easier. It is the beginning of a process, not a completed purchase.

Confirm the contact and the yacht

Ask whether the person you are speaking to is the owner, the listing broker or another intermediary. Confirm that the yacht is available and request its current specification, location and asking price. Our service is to introduce you; the seller or listing broker confirms the vessel’s details.

Make the viewing worthwhile

Before travelling, discuss the layout, condition, equipment and maintenance records that matter to you. Ask what documents and information will be available and who can answer technical questions.

Arrange the right professional support

Discuss independent surveys, sea trials and transaction documentation with the appropriate yacht professionals before agreeing a purchase. The RYA provides buying and selling information, including information on surveys; ABYA lists professional yacht brokers.

Know the fee arrangement

We seek a success fee from the seller or broker under agreed terms when an introduced buyer completes a purchase. We disclose the relevant arrangement before you proceed. We do not collect your purchase deposit or operate an escrow account.
