For UK cruising, say which coast you want to use and where you would prefer to berth. Southampton, Swanwick and Hamble have established yacht businesses; a local viewing may make it easier to organise a first conversation and revisit a shortlist.
A Mediterranean brief
If your plans centre on Mallorca, mainland Spain or the French Riviera, include that in your enquiry. Tell us whether you are open to travelling to view and whether the yacht must already be in your intended cruising area.
Ask about the complete move
If a yacht is in a different country from where you intend to keep it, ask the listing broker and your professional advisers about delivery, registration, documentation and the yacht’s individual tax position before committing. Those answers depend on the vessel and the transaction.
